You can sign up to be a host at any time. You’ll need to provide a bedroom and a place to live for a minimum of 6 months. They will need to have full access to come and go as they please, privacy and access to facilities such as kitchen space and bathrooms.

The government's Homes for Ukraine Scheme requires people offering accommodation & refugees to have made contact with each other before they jointly complete the Homes for Ukraine Visa Application. You may already know someone in Ukraine, however, if you don’t we can help match you with families and individuals who are looking for a host. Either way, we can also support you with the application process and preparation for your guests’ arrival and during their stay here in the Ringwood area.

Before you commit to becoming a host, please think carefully about what that might involve, bearing in mind that many of those coming here will have recently suffered huge emotional and physical upheaval, they may be traumatised and may have had to leave loved ones behind. Also consider the impact on your existing household, think about how many people you can comfortably house for what may be at least 6 months, and how it might affect your day to day life.

If you would like to take the next step to find out more about Hosting, please either complete the contact form on our Home Page or the Host Registration form below and we will be in touch.

You can read some further practical information from a Polish host with experience about what is involved.

The Sanctuary Foundation has a lot of information that you may find helpful, including this video which explains more about being a host and how to welcome Ukrainian refugees.
