What's On

Ringwood town is full of shops and cafes, and is easily walking distance from most houses in the area. Ringwood has a football team, a rugby team and a sailing lake who are happy for spectators. There is also an abundance of grand and historical buildings and beautiful churches.

Ringwood has two gyms and leisure centres, one is run by the council and is located near the town centre, the other is a private club located slightly further out of town.

Ringwood is near to the New Forest, for walks and cycling. There is some very pretty scenery whilst out and about enjoying the views. Blashford lakes is located just outside of town, and the castleman trail, which was the old railway, runs through town for beautiful walks.

There is a market every Wednesday as well as Farmers Markets every month.

Ringwood Library offers books that can he hired, computers that can be booked to borrow for a time period, as well as being the location for the Community Fridge. You can also print and photocopy here.

The library is offering Ukraine Connections, which is a chance to meet others for a friendly chat and drink.

Every Thursday 3 - 5pm.

Greyfriars Community Centre run a number of different clubs and activities which can be found on thier calendar on the website. Clubs such as dancing, exercise, Zumba and yoga meet here, as well as various crafts.

Greyfriars is located next to the library, near the town centre.

Welcoming Ukrainians to Ringwood

There are a number of churches in Ringwood, each has its own style and tradition and all work together to bless and serve the local community. You will find links to the churches here.

There are various activities organised for children, families and adults. These include baby and toddler groups, youth groups, lego groups, lunch groups, home groups, walking groups, and more.

There is also a Facebook Page highlighting some of the things going on at the local churches where you will find a warm welcome.

You can join in public swims as well as fitness classes without being a member, although our Ukrainian Guests can apply for 3 months' free membership.

There are a few free play parks in Ringwood, and a big one near the town centre called Carvers. This also has a skate park and a Clubhouse which provides snacks and drinks.

Moors Valley is a very local large outdoor park for walkers, children to play and railway. Its located just outside of Ringwood. The park is free to entre but you must pay for the car park. Older children may enjoy a bike ride through the forest to get there for free but it is quite a far journey for younger children.

There is two play parks, a play trail through the woods, cycling trails, picnic areas, toilets and a restaurant as well as a train that runs in the school holidays and weekends.

Moors Valley also run walking sessions and a running session on the weekends for adults, as well as yoga and organised bike rides.

Boy Playing Outside

Laura and her class families would like to donate any unused spaces in our classes to parents with young children from Ukraine.

They use British sign language, alongside songs, stories and development activities to help children communicate before they can talk, (this works well across all languages) and each session includes a free play element with refreshments for parents/carers and time to chat and feel part of things together.
